Our cat and dog companions are important beings in our lives, and we aim to honor that by fostering mutually beneficial connections.
At Wild Ones Behavior Consulting, we understand that behavior concerns like anxiety, aggression and imperfect potty habits can do serious damage to those bonds. We also know that these behaviors can be changed when we understand why they are happening, and how we can help our animal friends succeed.
Combining goal-directed strategies that are rooted in science with our deep practical knowledge and skills, we work to provide new ways for humans to understand animals and find solutions to these, and many other many common behavior issues.

Megan Phillips
Owner, CCBC, ACDBC Associate ConsultantDomenic is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who works as a precision teacher in Denver, Colorado. He received his Bachelor's degree in Psychology and his Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at Arizona State University. Domenic has been around animals since a very young age. His parents run a pet-shipping business (Petsfly.com) and while growing up his house doubled as a boarding facility, so there were constantly dogs, cats, and other creatures coming in and out of the house. He spent some time working as an Exotic Animal Keeper and Animal Care Technician at a shelter in Arizona, and participated in the Canine Collaboratory at ASU. Domenic hopes to improve the welfare of animals in shelters and animals in captivity through his work.
Megan trained lions, rhinos, and Polar Bears at the Denver Zoo, as well as bottlenose dolphins at SeaWorld, before co-founding Train with Trust Behavior Consultants LLC.
After co-founding the non-profit Train with Trust Project - dedicated to making evidence-based equine behavior education accessible - it was time for a refresh of her consulting business.
With an emphasis on helping people understand, and successfully work with the “wild” nature of their cat and dog companions, rather than struggling against it, Megan brings a unique perspective and set of skills to every class, client and animal.
When she began her career in the early 1990’s, positive reinforcement training was not yet the norm in exotic animal management. After pioneering the training of skittish African antelope, she went on to train many animal species including polar bears, African painted dogs, spotted hyenas and bottlenose dolphins.
Through all of these animal interactions, Megan has learned and lived the value of observing, listening and responding to each individual animal’s needs, in order to form trusting and successful partnerships.
Megan graduated magna cum laude from Metropolitan State University of Denver, with a Bachelor of Science degree in ecology. She is certified by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants.
Sarah Dugger
Associate ConsultantSarah Dugger discovered the power of positive reinforcement training in 2012 while working at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Since 2012, Sarah has spent more than a decade studying and applying evidence-based training techniques across a wide variety of species. Her career has taken her from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium to the Denver Zoo and Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, where she has cared for and trained animals including tigers, penguins, warthogs, and countless other species. She has specialized in building positive reinforcement programs for animals with little or no previous training history and creating cooperative relationships between animals and their caregivers.
The success of zoo-based animal training inspired Sarah to bring these same science-backed techniques to companion animals and the people who love them, where she has been focusing efforts since 2021 after founding Good Dog & Co. She helps families better understand their animals, address behavior challenges ethically and effectively, and builds practical training plans for each unique family, household, and animal.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, from The Ohio State University
